This traditional Middle Eastern flat bread makes a smart alternative to potato chips and heavier breads, because it's low in calories and carbohydrates. And since our Parmesan Pesto Pita Wedges are easy to prepare, it's a fun way to get the kids to help out in the kitchen!
What You'll Need
- 6 (6-inch) whole wheat pita breads, split
- 1/4 cup prepared pesto sauce
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
What to Do
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Spread 1 teaspoon pesto sauce on the smooth outer side of each pita half. Sprinkle each with 1/2 teaspoon Parmesan cheese. Cut each pita half into 8 equal wedges. Place in a single layer on large rimmed baking sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until crisp and golden. Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container until ready to serve.
