When I was a child my father was in the military. My first few elementary school years were spent in Germany. The big house we were assigned came with a maid. She made the most wonderful apple pancakes. She sliced them as in above, put them in a skillet and poured pancake batter to cover the slices. When she took them out of the pan she dipped them in cinnamon sugar. They were so good to eat. Warm or cold.
