Spicy Onions

Call the fire department, 'cause these onions are red hot! If you love tongue-tingling dishes, then our Spicy Onions are for you! Everything is diabetes diet-friendly, and sure to add excitement to mealtime.
What You'll Need
- 3 large sweet onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 teaspoon hot red pepper sauce
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
What to Do
- Place onions in a large bowl. Pour boiling water over onions and let stand 1 minute; drain.
- In a small bowl, combine pepper sauce, oil, and vinegar. Pour over onions, cover, and refrigerate at least 3 hours. Drain before serving.

I have to wonder if this recipe was really tested. The raw onion flavor is so overpowering that you can't get even a hint of the taste of the dressing. I had to throw the whole thing out.
