As if green beans weren't crispy enough, we added extra crunch by throwing in some chopped walnuts to make Nutty Green Beans a great dinnertime companion.
What You'll Need
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 (9-ounce) packages frozen Italian green beans, thawed
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, reconstituted and slivered
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
What to Do
- In a medium skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté the walnuts and garlic for 1 minute.
- Add the green beans and sun-dried tomatoes, and sauté for 6 to 7 minutes, or until the green beans are tender. Serve immediately.
Notes
Note: There are many types of nuts available in your local supermarket, but walnuts are an especially helpful variety, since they're high in omega-3 fatty acids. Those are the "good fats" that have so many health benefits, including regulating blood pressure.
