What You'll Need

- 1 1/2 pound asparagus, washed, trimmed
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil or 1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
What to Do
- In a large skillet, bring water to a boil. Add asparagus, cover, and cook over medium heat about 5 minutes, or until crisp-tender. Uncover and continue to boil 1 to 2 minutes, or until water is evaporated. Do not overcook. Remove asparagus to a serving platter and keep warm.
- Coat skillet with cooking spray. Add garlic and basil; cook 1 to 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in soy sauce and pour over cooked asparagus.
