Apple-Sauced Acorn Squash

Acorn Squash is a popular, and healthy, side dish during the fall and winter months. We've pumped up the fall flavor with the addition of apples and cinnamon. So go ahead, and give this a spin. It's one of our favorite easy Thanksgiving recipes!
What You'll Need
- 1 acorn squash (1 pound), cut in half lengthwise and seeded
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
What to Do

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place squash halves cut-side up on a rimmed baking sheet.

In a medium bowl, combine remaining ingredients; mix well. Spoon mixture evenly in squash halves.
- Bake 1 to 1-1/4 hours, or until tender. Cut each squash half lengthwise into thirds, and serve.
