What You'll Need
- 6 yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 tablespoon sherry cooking wine or dry sherry
- 4 cup water
- 4 (4-gram) packets sodium-free beef broth seasoning
What to Do
- Coat a large saucepan with cooking spray. Over medium heat, cook onions and thyme about 15 minutes, or until onions begin to brown.
- Reduce heat to low and continue cooking about 25 additional minutes, or until onions turn a rich brown color, stirring frequently. Add wine and bring to a boil. When wine is evaporated, add water and broth packets and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer about 25 additional minutes.
