Old-Fashioned Shrimp Boil

If you've never had a shrimp boil recipe, then this is the place to start! Our Old-Fashioned Shrimp Boil brings all the flavors of shrimp, veggies, and kielbasa to the table. It's got all the southern flavors you love, and it's been lightened up for a diabetes-diet! 

What You'll Need

  • 8 cup water
  • 1/2 tablespoon seafood seasoning (like Old Bay)
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 clove garlic
  • 1/2 pound turkey kielbasa sausage, cut into1-1/2-inch pieces
  • 3 red potatoes, cut in quarters
  • 1 onion, cut into chunks
  • 2 ears corn, cut into 3-inch pieces
  • 12 ounce jumbo shrimp, unpeeled

What to Do

  1. In a 6-quart soup pot over high heat, combine water, seafood seasoning, cayenne pepper and garlic; bring to a boil. Add keilbasa, potatoes, onion, and corn. 
  2. Cook 10 to 15 minutes or until potatoes are fork-tender.
  3. Add the shrimp and cook 2 to 3 minutes or until shrimp are pink.
  4. Strain the stew, reserving the broth for dunking. Serve immediately, along with bowls of the broth.
