Cinnamon-Sugar Apple Rings

Did you know that the Granny Smith could be called the perfect all-purpose apple? It's available year 'round, and stands up well to long cooking. You're going to wonder if our Cinnamon-Sugar Apple Rings are really a side dish, a dessert … or both!
What You'll Need
- 2 tablespoon light butter
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon*
- 3 large apples, cored, and cut into 1/2-inch thick rings
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
What to Do
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat; add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until blended.
- Add the apple rings; toss gently to coat. Cover, and cook over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Sprinkle with chopped walnuts, and serve.
Notes
*To make this a gluten-free recipe, use seasoning with no added starch from a gluten-containing source.
