I see so many desserts, that I'd love to try, but they call for instance pudding. I cannot eat instant pudding, can cook and serve pudding be used?

Unfortunately, we cannot say if cook and serve pudding can be used in every instance where instant pudding is called for, as we haven't tried this in the Test Kitchen. If you decide to give it a try, please let us know how it works out for you. Thank you for your comment!

My husband and I love this. So easy to fix. Have made twice and didn't change a thing.

My husband loves strawberries and he loved this recipe. I did not care for the texture due to the inability of the Jello to completely dissolve. I still gave it 5 stars as the texture may not be an issue for anyone else.

If you can find strawberry pudding mix substitute for the strawberry gelatin, water and vanilla pudding. So much better without the grit from the gelatin. Just add strawberry pudding mix directly to whipped topping. However, sometimes it's next to impossible to find strawberry pudding. If you must use the strawberry gelatin, I find that if you use hot water to dissolve the gelatin you lose the grittiness. If you use hot water let it cool down before adding to the whipped topping. I usually use frozen strawberries thawed in place of the fresh strawberries. When I use the frozen I add the cold liquid from the frozen strawberries to cool down the hot gelatin. Also, if using frozen strawberries, cut down on amount of water to dilute gelatin. I also drain the pineapple and use the liquid as part of the water amount-more flavor. Hope this helps!
